Accessibility Statement

Last updated: June 10, 2026

Atelier Digital is committed to making our website and products usable for everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. We treat accessibility as part of good craft, not a checkbox — and we're continually improving. This statement explains exactly what we cover and where each product stands today.

Our Commitment

We want every studio owner, instructor, parent, and student to be able to learn about Atelier Studio, sign up, book a class, and reach us — regardless of ability, device, or assistive technology. We design and build our products to be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for as many people as possible.

What This Statement Covers

This statement applies to the following Atelier Digital surfaces:

  • Marketing website — atelierdigital.co (this site).
  • Studio app — the studio management application at studio.atelierapp.co.
  • Signup & studio setup — the account creation flow at signup.atelierapp.co.
  • Customer booking pages — the customer-facing booking experience hosted by Atelier.
  • Embeddable booking widget — the widget studios embed into their own websites.

Out of scope: Our internal admin portal is a staff-only tool that is not available to the public, and is not covered by this statement. For the embeddable widget, this statement covers the widget itself — see Conformance Status for an important note about the websites it is embedded into.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They have three levels of conformance: A, AA, and AAA.

Across all of our products we target WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We chose Level AA because it is the standard referenced by accessibility laws and policies worldwide — including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508, the EU's EN 301 549 and the European Accessibility Act, and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). We target the current 2.2 version so we stay aligned with the latest criteria.

Every surface covered by this statement is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA — most content meets the standard following internal accessibility review, and we are actively fixing the areas that do not yet fully conform. Our conformance is self-assessed; we have not obtained an independent third-party audit.

Marketing website (atelierdigital.co)

Reviewed against WCAG 2.2 AA, with the remaining gaps being addressed (see Known Limitations).

Studio app, signup, and customer booking

At the same stage as the marketing website: internally reviewed against WCAG 2.2 AA, with remediation actively underway across these applications.

Embeddable booking widget

The widget itself is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 AA, at the same stage as our other surfaces. Please note this applies to the widget itself only. When a studio embeds the widget into their own website, the accessibility of that surrounding website is the responsibility of that site's owner and is outside our control — embedding an accessible widget does not, by itself, make the host website conformant.

Measures We Take

Accessibility is built into how we design and develop. Our practices include:

  • Using semantic HTML landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer) and a "Skip to content" link.
  • Maintaining a logical heading order so screen-reader users can navigate by structure.
  • Providing visible keyboard focus indicators and ensuring interactive elements — links, buttons, menus, and forms — are operable with a keyboard.
  • Labelling form fields, announcing form success and error messages to assistive technology, and supporting browser autofill.
  • Respecting the prefers-reduced-motion setting so animation and video are reduced or replaced with a still image for people who ask for less motion.
  • Aiming for color contrast that meets WCAG AA, providing text alternatives for meaningful images, and marking decorative images so they're ignored by screen readers.
  • Using responsive layouts that work without horizontal scrolling and support text resizing and zoom.

We apply these practices across the marketing website, our applications (studio app, signup, and customer booking), and the embeddable widget.

Compatibility

Our products are designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari) on desktop and mobile, used together with current assistive technologies such as screen readers and speech recognition. They may not work optimally in browsers more than two major versions old.

Our sites and apps rely on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. On the marketing website, the core content and navigation remain readable where JavaScript is unavailable; the applications require JavaScript to function.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some limitations remain. We're aware of, and working to address, the following:

  • Background video (marketing site): The homepage hero uses a muted, decorative background video. It honors the reduced-motion setting (showing a still image instead) and includes a pause control, but we continue to review its behavior across devices.
  • Remediation in progress: The studio app, signup flow, and customer booking pages are partially conformant and undergoing active accessibility fixes; some barriers may remain until that work is complete.
  • Embedded widget host pages: When the booking widget is embedded in a third-party website, the accessibility of that surrounding website is outside our control and we cannot guarantee it.
  • Third-party content: Some functionality, such as analytics, is provided by third parties whose accessibility we don't fully control. We choose vendors with accessibility in mind and raise issues with them when we find them.

If you encounter a barrier that isn't listed here, please tell us — see below.

Feedback & Contact

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of any Atelier Digital product. If you encounter a barrier, or need information in a different format, please contact us:

Email: [email protected]

Contact form: atelierdigital.co/contact

We aim to respond within about two business days. Please include the page or product, a description of the problem, and the browser and assistive technology you were using, if you can — it helps us reproduce and fix the issue faster.

Assessment Approach

Atelier Digital assesses accessibility through internal review against the WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criteria, including manual keyboard and screen-reader testing and automated checks. This is a self-assessment: our products have not been independently audited or externally validated. The marketing website and our applications are reviewed on the same basis. This statement was last updated on June 10, 2026, and is reviewed as our products change.
