For dance studios

Dance studio software, built by dancers.

Class scheduling, online booking, payments, and waitlists — for studios from ballet to breaking. Shaped by Ava, a professional dancer from Michigan and co-founder of Atelier Studio, so the workflows match the way studios actually run.

01 / Scheduling

Class scheduling on autopilot.

The single largest time-sink in a dance studio is the timetable. Set your studio hours, instructor availability, holidays, and recurring class patterns once — Atelier Studio takes it from there.

  • Group classes, privates, and term-based recurring classes
  • Waitlists and cancellations handled automatically
  • Atelier Encore — intelligent seat-filling invites the dancers who'd want a last-minute open spot
  • Per-instructor availability and substitute coverage
  • Studio-wide holiday calendars

02 / Booking

A booking widget that lives on your existing site.

Don't rebuild your website to take registrations. Atelier Studio ships a copy-and-paste dance class booking widget that drops into any site you already have — anywhere you can paste a script tag. Your existing design stays; the widget handles class lists, student sign-ups, and waitlists — a complete dance studio booking system on the site you already have.

  • One-line install — a single <script> tag
  • Works on static HTML, Squarespace, Wix, WordPress, or anywhere else scripts run
  • Inherits your typography and color tokens
  • Mobile-first by default

03 / Payments & billing

Payments and billing, without the markup.

Dance studio margins are thin — your software shouldn't take more than its share. Atelier Studio is a complete payment system for the studio: recurring tuition on autopay, drop-in and class-pack sales, class packs and memberships, and family billing that keeps every dancer in a household on one account.

Card, debit, and ACH payments run through Stripe. On Community it's a tiny 0.1% per transaction, capped at $1 (max $100 a month); Academy is 0.75% per transaction, capped at $2 — and never more than $250 in a calendar month — lower than other dance studio software, and the money lands in your Stripe account, never ours. Your rate is locked in the day you join.

  • Recurring tuition & autopay
  • Drop-in, class-pack, and membership sales
  • Family & household billing on one account
  • Refunds, partial credits, and account balances
  • PCI-secure card, debit, and ACH via Stripe — paid into your own account

04 / Levels & progression

Every dancer, at the right barre.

Ballet runs on levels — Pre-Primary to Advanced, grade exams, the year a dancer finally goes up on pointe. Atelier Studio makes them part of the schedule, not sticky notes on the studio wall: a level on every class, a grade on every dancer, and the two working hand in hand.

  • Class levels & dancer grades: the right classes surface for the right dancers, automatically
  • Level-gated placements: hold pointe or an audition-track class to the dancers who are ready — a dancer below the line requests placement, and you approve
  • Your own syllabus: build your grades, or mirror an established standard like RAD, Cecchetti, or the Suzuki Method for your music classes

Included on every plan.

Assessments — Academy

Exam day, on the record.

Grade exams, adjudications, the year a dancer earns the next level — the structured side of a dance studio runs on evaluation. On the Academy plan, Atelier Studio puts a real panel in the room and keeps the score.

  • Juried panels: several adjudicators score the same variation — mock exams, graded exams, competition rounds
  • Rubrics you build: score against your own criteria and keep every mark on record for level advancement
  • Shared practice logs: rehearsal and conditioning notes that move between teacher, dancer, and parents across the studio and customer portals

Included on the Academy plan, and inherited by Network.

I've been in dance studios since I was a child. Every piece of software I used as a professional dancer treated the studio like a gym. Atelier Studio is the platform I wanted to walk into.

Built for every kind of dance

Ballet, breaking, contemporary, everything in between.

The mechanics of running a studio are the same whether you teach pointe or power-moves. Atelier Studio doesn't make you choose a style.

Common questions

Dance studio software FAQ

Is Atelier Studio suitable for small dance studios?

Yes. We built it for studios of every size — from a single-instructor operation in a rented church basement to multi-room schools with full pre-pro programs. Pricing scales with you, with no extra fees per location, per student, or per class.

Can I embed the dance class booking widget on my existing site?

Yes. The booking widget is a single <script> tag you paste into any existing site — static HTML, Squarespace, Wix, WordPress, anywhere a script runs. Your existing design stays; the widget inherits your typography and brand colors.

What payment methods does Atelier Studio support?

Credit cards, debit cards, and ACH bank transfers, processed through Stripe. Transaction fees are lower than competing dance studio software, and you can collect recurring tuition, class packs, and family billing without juggling separate tools.

Is Atelier Studio a complete dance studio billing system?

Yes. Beyond taking payments, it runs the billing a studio actually needs: recurring tuition on autopay, class packs and memberships, family billing across multiple dancers, and automatic refunds or account credits. One system for enrollment, scheduling, and the money — not a booking tool bolted onto a separate biller.

How much does dance studio payment processing cost?

It depends on your plan. Community is 0.1% per transaction, capped at $1 (and never more than $100 in a calendar month); Academy is 0.75% per transaction, capped at $2 — and never more than $250 in a calendar month — on top of Stripe's standard card rate, and lower than most dance studio software. Payments go straight into your own Stripe account; we never hold your money. The rate you start on is grandfathered — locked for the life of your subscription.

Can I run graded levels, exams, and placement for my dancers?

Yes. Give every class a level and every dancer their grade, then gate a class — pointe, an audition track, an exam-prep block — to the dancers who are ready. A dancer below the line can request placement, and you approve before they enroll. Build your own levels or mirror a graded syllabus your studio already follows. On the Academy plan, run mock and graded exams with a jury and a rubric, and keep shared practice logs moving between teacher, dancer, and parents.

Does Atelier Studio handle recurring schedules and waitlists?

Yes. Set instructor availability, holidays, and recurring class patterns once. The platform handles waitlists, cancellations, term-based recurring classes, and private lessons automatically — including substitute instructors when someone calls out.
