What is an "active student" on Atelier Studio™?
Anyone who, in the current month, signs a waiver, signs up for a class, pays for a class, or joins a waitlist. The counter resets monthly. Both self-serve plans (Community and Academy) include unlimited active students, with no per-student charge. Whether you're a boutique studio just starting out or a full school, bring your whole roster.
Do you charge per location or per student?
No per-location charge, ever. No per-student charge on any plan; every plan includes unlimited active students. Multi-location support is In progress: when it lands, Community includes up to 2 locations, Academy up to 3, and the Network plan runs unlimited locations for multi-location studios and franchises.
Which plans include skill levels and assessments?
Graded skill levels and progression are on every plan. Community and Academy both let you set class difficulty and student skill levels, gate classes by level, take student placement requests, and build your own level system (or model an established standard your studio already follows). Juried assessments with rubric scoring and shared practice logs (notes that move between teacher, student, and parents through the studio and customer portals) come with Academy, and are inherited by Network.
Where do online payments go?
Directly to your own Stripe account. We never hold your money. We'll help you set up a new Stripe account or connect an existing one as part of onboarding.
What is the transaction fee?
Community is 0.1% per transaction, capped at $1, and never more than $100 in a calendar month. Academy is 0.75% per transaction, capped at $2, and never more than $250 in a calendar month. Both are charged per transaction, not per item. Stripe's standard processing fees apply separately and you'll always see exactly what you're paying and to whom.
How much does text messaging cost?
Texting is an optional add-on on both plans. Activation is a one-time $50, which covers carrier registration with The Campaign Registry and a dedicated phone number for your studio. After that it's $19 a month, which includes 1,000 texts per billing cycle. Extra texts are $0.02 each, and the count resets every billing cycle. You choose which notifications go out by text, so most studios stay well within 1,000. Email notifications are unlimited and included on every plan. Network plans get custom texting terms.
How does the 14-day free trial work?
When you sign up you enter Setup Mode, with up to 30 days to configure your studio at your own pace, no trial clock running. The free 14-day trial only begins when you click Launch Studio. Billing starts on day 15 of the trial at the plan you chose, at the price you saw (locked in for life). No credit card needed to sign up.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. No notice period, no cancellation fee, no questions.
Will my price ever change?
We use grandfathered pricing. The rate you sign up at is locked for as long as you stay on the same plan, even if we raise prices later. If we ever drop prices, you can switch plans to pick up the new rate; your subscription doesn't move on its own. Stripe Billing handles all of it automatically, and your locked rate appears on every invoice.
